Partnership track position with large, well-established, stable 80 physician group; SAA has been providing service to patients and facilities in Southern Arizona for 35 years. Superb quality and unfailing commitment to fair treatment of physicians; extremely low turnover. Resort town with great climate, year-round hiking/biking/tennis/golf; world class culture & resorts, excellent public schools, etc. Part time work also a possibility; a limited number of no-call positions may be available. Looking for both Cardiac Anesthesiologists (TEE certified) and General OR anesthesiologists.

All physicians are hired with the intent to become partners, and only 1 physician in the past 20 years has not been offered partnership. The path to partnership is very quick; 12 months to financial equality and another 6 months to full stockholder status.
We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits, and multiple work options to meet the needs of a diverse group of physicians at various stages of their career, including part-time positions ranging from 50% to 90% of full-time, and options to be off both pre-call and post-call if desired (i.e. take major calls from 5pm to 7am).
10 weeks vacation (8 weeks the first year); vacation is allocated via a lottery system with equal access for all physicians.

Major calls (in-house OB or from-home First call) average two per month, plus back-up calls, with a total call load of roughly 1 weekday call per week and 1 weekend per month; cardiac call is instead of regular OR call and is expected to be 1 in 5 when fully staffed.
OB is optional.
Compensation is a blend of shared income (20%) and productivity (80%); productivity is insurance blind and based on minutes of anesthesia (aka Chair Time) or flat shift rates. Total Compensation for Full-Time General OR Anesthesiologists expected to be $350K - $600K; Total Compensation represents W-2 income plus Employee 401K deferrals and optional CME, HSA, and Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan. In addition to Total Compensation, physicians also receive full insurances (health/dental/life/disability/LTC/malpractice) as well as dues & licenses, and all MSO services. W-2 income expected to be $300K - $560K (depending on productivity and optional CME, HSA, etc.), plus first year signing bonus and relocation expense allowance.

In addition to all of Tucson's attractions and amenities, there are numerous choices for adventurous days exploring the surrounding areas. Mountains, ghost towns, wineries, historic sites, a foreign country, natural wonders, and western and mining towns are among the many choices for a day of adventure. There are few other cities in America where you can open your Christmas presents in 76 degree weather and spend the rest of the day in the mountains building a snowman. Tucson International Airport (TUS) is a convenient mid-sized airport, with inexpensive parking and non-stop flights to 21 destinations, including major hubs such as Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Houston, San Francisco and Seattle, opening up one-stop service to hundreds of destinations within the US and internationally, as well as nonstop service to destinations such as San Jose, Portland, Provo, San Diego and Austin. Tucson’s airport is served by American, Delta, United, Southwest, Frontier, Sun Country, Alaska, Allegiant, and ViaAir.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport (PHX) is just 90 minutes north of Tucson, and many Tucsonans choose to fly out of Phoenix for non-stop international destinations including London, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Costa Rica, Frankfurt and numerous other non-stop destinations in Mexico and Canada.
